Aims and Scope

"Sushrut Vidya International Journal of Shalakyatantra" (SV-IJOS) is a double-blind peer-reviewed, open access journal devoted to Shalakyatantra — the classical branch of Ayurveda concerned with the disorders of the urdhvanga, the structures above the clavicle. Published as an official journal of The Association of Shalaki, India, our mission is to connect Shalakya physicians, surgeons, scholars, and researchers advancing this speciality worldwide.

The journal welcomes high-quality work across the full scope of Shalakyatantra: Netra Roga (ophthalmology), Karna Roga (otology), Nasa Roga (rhinology), Kantha Roga (diseases of the throat and larynx), Mukha and Danta Roga (oral and dental disorders), and Shiro Roga (disorders of the head). We publish clinical studies, drug and formulation trials, kriyakalpa and panchakarma procedural research, surgical and para-surgical technique reports, and literary or conceptual studies grounded in the classical samhitas.

We particularly encourage research that bridges classical Ayurvedic understanding with contemporary clinical evidence. Integrative studies that place ayurvedic diagnosis and management alongside modern ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology and dentistry — and that demonstrate measurable improvements in patient outcomes — are especially valued.

SV-IJOS embraces both speciality-specific and integrative approaches to care. We publish original research, systematic and conceptual reviews, case reports and series, surgical techniques and clinical pearls, perspectives, and letters — drawn from Shalakyatantra and its allied Ayurvedic and biomedical disciplines — to promote a rich, interdisciplinary dialogue.

By sharing ideas, discoveries, and innovations, the journal aims to inspire safer and more effective practice, informed policymaking, and collaborative scholarship. Our ultimate goal is to strengthen the global community of Shalakya practitioners and researchers working toward better outcomes for every patient.
